Terms of Use

Last updated: November 29, 2025

By using DoomsdayWatch, you agree to these terms. They're pretty simple, actually.

TL;DR

This is a free, educational project. The asteroid data comes from NASA and is for informational purposes only. Don't make life decisions based on our "threat levels" - we're being dramatic for entertainment. If a real asteroid is coming, NASA will tell you, not us.

About DoomsdayWatch

DoomsdayWatch is a free, open-source project that displays near-Earth asteroid data from NASA's public API. It's designed for educational and entertainment purposes. The "threat levels," AI messages, and dramatic styling are for fun - this is not an official early warning system.

No Warranties

This service is provided "as is" without any warranties. Specifically:

  • • Data accuracy depends on NASA's API - we're not liable for any errors
  • • The service may be unavailable at times
  • • "Threat levels" are our own interpretation and not official assessments
  • • AI-generated messages are for entertainment only

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of DoomsdayWatch. We're definitely not responsible if you build a bunker because our dashboard said "CRITICAL." Please consult actual space agencies for legitimate asteroid concerns.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top when we do. Continued use of DoomsdayWatch after changes means you accept the new terms.

Acceptable Use

When using DoomsdayWatch, you agree not to:

  • • Attempt to disrupt or overwhelm our servers
  • • Use the service for any illegal purposes
  • • Scrape data at unreasonable rates
  • • Misrepresent this as an official NASA or government service

🌍 Actual Asteroid Emergency?

If you're genuinely concerned about an asteroid impact, please refer to official sources like NASA's Center for Near Earth Object Studies (CNEOS). They have the real scientists and the real data. We just have cool animations.
